On December 19, the Research and Conservation Center for Unearthed Texts at Tsinghua University and Peking University Press released a new book titled “A Systematic Collection of Oracle Bone Script”.

From 2012 to 2022, Professor Huang Tianshu at the Center led his team to compile the collection, as if they were “sharpening one sword in ten years”. “The collection” is known to be the largest collection of oracle bone inscriptions.

“The collection” is the first comprehensive study of oracle-bone inscriptions in the form of rubbings based on new theories and methods. The available more than 70,000 pieces of engraved oracle bones, complex and originally unsystematic, are organized into orderly scientific data. The book consists of 43 volumes and three parts: “plates”, “texts” and “indices”. It contains 70,659 pieces of inscribed oracle bones. “The collection”, with high academic value, is a collection of oracle bone inscriptions data and a major landmark achievement of the ancient text project.
