Exhibition “Marx in Chinese Art” Opened

　　The exhibition “Marx in Chinese Art,” alongside the Red Art and Literature Exhibition of Nanjing University of the Arts, is going on at the National Art Museum of China (NAMOC). It is the first thematic exhibition in which NAMOC has brought together Chinese contemporary art pieces on Marx. Also, the exhibition has, for the first time, provided systematic knowledge of the “red history” of Nanjing University of the Arts.
　　The first part is the exhibition with the theme “Marx in Chinese Art,” curated by Central Compilation and Translation Press. The thematic exhibition consists of five parts, which are “The Album of Marx,” “Entering China,” “Combination of Art and Theory,” “The Spring of Art,” and “A New Era of Advancement.” More than 100 exhibits are displayed, including traditional Chinese paintings, oil paintings, prints, sculptures, pictures, and literature. This is the first thematic exhibition that has assembled Chinese contemporary art pieces on Marx. It reviews and exhibits Marx’s image as shaped by famous Chinese artists in their art creations, and it shows us the significant contributions artists have made in spreading Marxism, adapting Marxism to the Chinese context and to the new era, and advancing the publicity of the Communist Party of China.
