The 2nd China-ASEAN International Urban Sculpture and Public Art Festival was opened on the afternoon of December 3. The event invited more than 170 artists from different countries and regions and attracted over 50 exhibitors, who exhibited some 200 pieces of work.

　　With the theme “Innovation, Fusion,” the event aims to promote exchange and mutual learning between China and ASEAN in the fine arts. Artists in Guangxi are ready to take the opportunity of the event to strengthen cooperation with famous sculptors and public art creators from ASEAN. They hope to jointly promote the development of international urban art in China and ASEAN, contribute ideas to urban development and campus culture development, and expand Guangxi’s cause of culture and art and the global influence of its art education.

　　“This event is meant to build an academic platform to facilitate dialogues and exchanges between China and ASEAN on international urban sculpture and public art. We hope that all experts will take the opportunity of the event to conduct in-depth exchanges and research on contemporary international urban sculpture and public art and discuss new ideas and paths for the development of plastic arts education.” As one of the organizers, Guangxi Arts University will enhance communication and cooperation with universities in ASEAN to promote the development of regional cultures, arts, and education towards win-win results.
