On November 28, Guangming Daily and the Publicity Department of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee held a seminar in Jinan to delve into the guidelines of the 20th CPC National Congress, including the adaption of Marxism to the Chinese context and excellent Chinese traditional culture (“integration in two aspects”) and the innovative transformation and development of excellent Chinese traditional culture.
As stressed at the seminar, in grasping the guidelines of the 20th CPC National Congress and Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, it is important to understand the significance of “integration in two aspects,” the opinions of “six commitments” (committed to putting the people first, maintaining self-confidence and standing on our own feet, upholding fundamental principles and breaking new ground, adopting a problem-oriented approach, applying systems thinking, and maintaining a global vision), and the requirements of the innovative transformation and development of excellent Chinese traditional culture for a new era. It is essential to understand that Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era is the essence of Chinese culture and spirit in the new era. The comparative advantages of Shandong, represented by its fertile soil for culture, must be leveraged to build a Chinese culture experience corridor, integrate into daily lives, implement key industrial projects, conduct forums and seminars, and attract and develop talents to advance the innovative transformation and development of excellent Chinese traditional culture. All forces must be coordinated and consolidated to strive for new achievements in the new cultural cause.
A number of participants made speeches at the seminar, including experts and scholars Guo Qiyong, Gan Chunsong, Wang Xuedian, Wang Jie, and Zhao Qiuli, and relevant staff from departments directly administered by Shandong and from some cities in the province.
