The ceremony for the donation of significant art literature to the National Library of China was held at the library on November 3. Seven renowned artists donated some 1,100 volumes (pieces) and 3,780 pieces of important literature in more than 540 categories, including manuscripts, diaries, and old photos. All are important materials of excellent art and literary works produced since the Yan’an Forum on Literature and Art.

　　It is understood that the important literature donated this time includes: Ode to Red Flag by Lyu Qiming, a famous composer and winner of the July 1 Medal; manuscripts of The Moon on the 15th and Where the Peach Blossoms Are in Full Bloom by the famous composer Tie Yuan; old photos of Meng Yu, a 100-year-old famous performance artist and the first-generation actress starring the White Haired Girl, during her stay in Yan’an; manuscripts and thousands of photos of Yu Lan, a famous film artist; film shooting diaries of Wang Tiecheng, a famous film artist; the famous pianist Bao Huiqiao’s records and manuscripts of interviews with domestic and foreign pianists and educators; and manuscripts and photos of Tian Xiaguang, an artist during the Yan’an period. At the donation ceremony, Wei Dawei, Party Committee Secretary and Deputy Director of the National Library of China, accepted the donation and presented the certificate of donation to Ma Lanhua, Director of the Folk Instrument Orchestra of the China Ethnic Song & Dance Ensemble.

　　A concert with the theme “Music Lights Up Life: My People, My Country—Music Salon Special” was also held at the event.
