On April 7, "Mingzhou Asks for Pottery - 2022 Ningbo International (China, Japan and Korea) Contemporary Young Ceramic Artists Exhibition" opened at Ningbo China Port Museum. A total of 504 artists from China, Japan, and the ROK submitted works for the exhibition. After initial evaluation and re-evaluation, a total of 179 works were exhibited.

Ningbo was called Mingzhou in ancient times. It is an important port along the Maritime Silk Road and had close trade relations with Japan and the ROK in history. Ceramic art is one of China's great creations. Thanks to the geographical proximity, the development of ceramic art on the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese archipelago came from China, with Ningbo as an important transit port.

The contemporary ceramic art in China, Japan and the ROK follows different tracks and is marked with different aesthetic taste and spiritual character. In the exhibition "Mingzhou Asks for Pottery", ceramic artists from China, Japan and the ROK showed their exploration with different ceramic materials in their works, and took this as an opportunity to strengthen the communication and mutual understanding between different cultures and promote the diversified development of ceramic art. The exhibition has created a new model of international exchanges and exhibition between domestic and foreign countries, with primary and branch venues, and online and offline exchanges. Affected by Covid-19, the works of Japanese and ROK artists were exhibited in the form of videos, and the real exhibits were presented in the ROK. The primary and branch venues opened online and offline at the same time. Artists from the three countries and visitors can communicate and share views through the Internet. Nearly 20,000 netizens visited the exhibition through the Internet.(cited from chinakongzi.org, source from Chinanews.com.cn)
