The 3rd Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovation for UK University Students was held online on 10 April, 2022.

A total of 14 contestants from 10 universities across the UK entered the final of this year's competition, with entries covering a wide range of topics, including Charitable Projects and Business Innovation in the China-UK exchanges. The judges judged the contestants in terms of voice intonation, quality of language, content structure, originality and Q&A performance. During the competition, some contestants gave advice on the international development of Chinese cosmetic brands under the influence of "China Chic". Some introduced cell phone software and WeChat applets to help the elderly and left-behind children, and others gave speeches on the theme of "Green, Low-carbon and Innovation".

Matej Porubovic, whose Chinese name is Ma Jie, a computer science student at the University of Southampton, UK, won first place for his work "Never forget where one's happiness comes from". His business innovation idea is to design and promote portable combination mugs that can meet multifunctional needs, are easy to clean and more environmentally friendly. In his acceptance speech, he said that this is a competition, but it is also an opportunity to learn from each other, which helps to improve Chinese language level.

Catherine Webber, a graduate of the University of London and first place winner of the previous competition, said that the "eco-tour" cell phone software solution she presented during the competition is now in the project implementation stage. She believes that this competition will promote the improvement of the contestants' Chinese language skills and deepen their understanding of China, while providing valuable opportunities for them to achieve more.

As a sister event of the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students, Chinese Competition of Charitable Projects & Business Innovation for UK University Students is a well-known brand in Chinese language teaching and learning in the UK, organized by the UK Representative Office of the CLEC under the Ministry of Education of China and the Chinese Proficiency Test UK Committee. It aims to promote the teaching of business Chinese in UK universities, stimulate the potential of business innovation among UK students and help to increase the concern, participation and responsibility for charitable projects.
