The Inaugural Meeting of the World Confucian Conference was opened at Confucius Research Instiute, Qufu city. The vice governor of Shandong province Huang Sheng, the secretary of the Party Committee and dean of Chinese National Academy of Arts and director of China Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center Wang Wenzhang attended the conference and gave speeches. The Announcement and Constitute of the World Confucian Conference was passed during the meeting, deciding that the first session of the Conference would be held at Qufu during International Confucius Culture Festival next year, and annually from then on.
     Vice governor Huang Sheng pointed out that the Chinese culture represented by Confucianism is broad and profound, Confucius' Confucianism embodies strong life care empathy,  aspiration of contributing to the society and the profound idea of harmony, not only influencing China for thousands of years, but also contributing positively to the improvement of the spiritual realm of all the mankind. He hoped that the World Confucian Conference would encourage the cultural and academic indepth exchange and extensive cooperation, make us jointly protect and carry forward the intangible cultural heritage, strengthen the worldwide Confucianism research, and promote the Chinese culture go the the world prosperously.
     As is known, the Confucianism with Confucius' thought as the core has been spread widely worldwide, over 100 Confucius Institutes have been established all over the world, and over 200 ones are under way. The 25 Noble Prize winners declared at the Paris Assembly in 1988 that, in order to survive in 21st, human beings have to go back 2500 years to aborb wisdom from Confucius. "Do not to others what don't want to be done" advocated by Confucius have been written on the stone inscription at the hall of the headquarter of the UNESCO. According to the organizer, the aim of holding the World Confucian Conference was to build a wide platform of Confucianism research and exchange and make it into a public one for the dialogue between Confucianism and other academic thoughts and cultural ideas and the way for Confucianism to face the world and go to the future.
     97 experts and scholar of 55 Confucian organizations from 12 countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, U.S.A, France, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Slovakia, the mainland of China, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan took part in the meeting. (cited from Dazhong Net)
