Chinese and Japanese Calligraphers and Painters Meet Online

     On the afternoon of January 18th, the Qiantong Culture Research Association in Yanshan of Cangzhou, the Japanese Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and the All-Japan Chinese Calligraphers Association jointly held an online meeting for Chinese and Japanese calligraphers and painters to welcome the Spring Festival. The "online + offline" event was held simultaneously in Yanshan of Hebei Province in China and Tokyo of Japan. More than 30 famous calligraphy and painting artists from the two countries attended the event in Yanshan and Tokyo respectively. They also made more than 100 themed paintings and calligraphy works on the spot.
     Wang Haichi, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC Yanshan County Committee and Director of the Qiantong Cultural Festival Executive Committee, said at the opening ceremony that 2022 is the 50th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations between China and Japan, which coincides with the approaching Spring Festival of the Year of the Tiger. He hoped that the cultural event can serve as a link to promote friendly relations between the two countries and deepen the friendship between the two peoples.
Jin Ou, Chairman of the Japan Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said that he hopes to leverage the power of culture to convey to the world the common aspirations of the Chinese and Japanese people to cherish peace and friendship, and to extend best wishes for the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympics and Winter Paralympics.
     During the event, Chinese and Japanese artists showed their calligraphy and painting works with different styles, and jointly expressed their best wishes for the Olympic Games and their aspirations for peace, friendship and common development.
