Inauguration of Research Base for Confucianism Postgraduate

     On the afternoon of September 29th, the Research Base for Confucianism Postgraduate Program of Ministry of Education, the Joint Graduate School Secretariat of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and the Sub-centers of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies witnessed their inauguration in Qufu, Shandong. 

  The research base jointly unveiled by Jin Nuo, Party Secretary of Renmin University of China, Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and President of Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, and Wang Xinfu, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice Governor of Shandong Provincial Government

     The research base was jointly unveiled by Jin Nuo, Party Secretary of Renmin University of China, Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and President of the Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, and Wang Xinfu, Member of the Leading Party Members Group and Vice Governor of Shandong Provincial Government. Liu Changya, Director-General of the Development and Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, Huang Hongguang, Deputy Secretary-General of the Shandong Provincial Government, Deng Yunfeng, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Education Working Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Director-General of Shandong Provincial Department of Education and Yu Yongsheng, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Jining Municipal Committee and Mayor of Jining City attended the event. Guo Chengyan, Party Secretary and Deputy Director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies (Secretariat of China Confucius Foundation) presided over the unveiling ceremony.

     The Joint Graduate School of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies is a state-sponsored new type of graduate school. The Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, together with the Party School of the Central Committee of the CPC (National Academy of Governance), University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Fudan University, Shandong University, Sichuan University, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University, adding up to 10 first-class institutions of higher learning, carry out postgraduate education through concerted efforts. The "Study Tour of 100 Doctoral Candidates in Shandong" event was held in Qufu, the hometown of Confucius, from 25th to 30th.

     The Joint Graduate School Secretariat of and Sub-centers of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies in several universities namely the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, Fudan University, Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University and Sichuan University were unveiled at the same event. Previously, such sub-centers had already been set up in Renmin University of China and Shandong University. Up to now, sub-centers of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies have risen to 8 in total, putting in place a structure of one center supported by multiple sub-centers. 

Sub-centers in the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University, and Fudan University unveiled respectively by Wang Xinqing, Deputy Party Secretary and Vice President of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, and Dean of the Graduate School, Deng Yunfeng, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group and Director-General of the Shandong Provincial Department of Education, Sun Deren, Assistant Researcher of Tsinghua University, Guo Sike, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, and Director of the Confucius Museum , Lin Hui, Associate Dean of the School of Philosophy of Fudan University, and Zhang Bofu, Level-2 Inspector of Shandong Provincial Department of Finance

Sub-centers in Wuhan University, Sun Yat-sen University and Sichuan University unveiled respectively by Chen Chuanfu, Dean of the Graduate School of Wuhan University, Liu Hao, Member of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, Liu Jike, Vice President of Sun Yat-sen University, Li Jinli, Member of the Leading Party Members Group of Jining Municipal Government, Shu Dagang, Dean of the Institute of International Confucian Studies of Sichuan University, and Liu Dongbo, Secretary of the CPC Qufu Municipal Committee
