Confucius Institute at University of Oklahoma Holds Traditio

     The Confucius Institute at the University of Oklahoma has recently performed 21 shows centering on traditional Chinese culture and arts for nearly 10,000 audiences in Oklahoma, promoting China-US exchanges, cultural integration, respect and mutual trust.
     Paul Bell, Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Oklahoma, hosted the performance and introduced Chinese culture, geography, economic development, and arts. Chinese and foreign directors, 6 teachers and volunteers learnt traditional Chinese talents and rehearsed their shows in their spare time. They performed Mongolian dance, Tai Chi fan dance, guzheng, tea art and dragon dance for US audiences.
     The Confucius Institute at the University of Oklahoma performed twice a day for students from the Confucius Classrooms of six primary and secondary schools in Santa Fe South. Santa Fe South school district, a charter school district, aims at providing students from poor Mexican families with equal education opportunities. The volunteers of the Confucius Institute were invited to the school district to teach Chinese language and culture for two consecutive years. Nearly 2,000 people study credit or non-credit courses every year, such as Chinese language, Chinese history, and Chinese arts.
     The Confucius Institute at the University of Oklahoma presents more and more annual performances and reports with wider varieties in response to the Belt and Road Initiative and the building of a community of a shared future for mankind put forward by China. The interaction between the Confucius Institute and local people pools the positive energy and promotes mutual trust and understanding between the people of the US and China.
