From October 22nd to 28th, 2017, Nishan Scholar Li Runhe went to South Korea for cultural inspection and academic exchange. They surveyed the academies in Andong and Rongzhou districts in detail around the theme of the development and study of Confucianism localization, and held discussion with relative professionals.
The academy is the important carrier in spreading traditional Confucianism in South Korea. In addition, Li Runhe and his delegate visited Li Tuixi’s House, the Confucians’ palace and the Confucians’ village. Academy, the Confucian master’s house and the Confucians’ palace constitutes the trinity in modern Korean Confucianism spread.
The delegate visited the history department of Andong University and held discussion with relative professros and students on such issues as the function of the academy, the development of Confucianism in current times and in the future, the spread of Confucianism by the youth and so on.
Since his serving as Nishan scholar, Li Runhe took the Confucianism localization as the important part of their plan. This cultural inspection laid a solid foundation for the future study of the delegate, and promoted the foreign exchange of Confucius Research Institute.
In addition, Nishan Scholar and the associate researcher of Confucius Research Institute Lu Zequan gave the lecture of On the Transformation of the Outskirt Sacrifice Ceremony in Tang and Song Dynasties as the fourth lecture of Chunqiu Forum at Andong National University of South Korea by invitation; Doctor Li Yang assisted him as the interpreter. All the members of the delegate took part in the forum and discussed with the teachers and students of Confucius Institute.
